Burning of our Viking Long boat

Author: Mrs Dudgeon | Filed under: General

As part of our history topic we have been learning about the Vikings and have constructed a Viking longboat. We have all really enjoyed this topic and were very excited at the proposal of finishing it by celebrating in true Viking style. We did this by burning the longboat as if a Viking warrior had died in battle.

Literacy Homework

Author: Mrs Dudgeon | Filed under: Homework

This week we would like you to write a set of instructions for something that you do. It might be instructions for getting ready for school in the morning, instructions for making your favourite sandwich or instructions of how to make something.

Think carefully about the different features (title, how to set them out, bossy verbs, good descriptions etc) that instructions have and use them when you write them down.

Remember you need to let the reader know the right order for your instructions and make them as clear as possible.

Good luck!

Last Thursday Envirolution came into school and ran a workshop on environmental awareness and the value of growing our own food. The plants are outside our classroom to catch the sun. Keep watching for new posts to see how our mysetery plants are growing and what they turn out to be!

Write about what you do on your snowy day. Think carefully about what you wear, where you go, who you meet and how you feel.

Include as much detail as possible so we can picture the snowy day in our own minds.

Good luck in whisking our thoughts off to a snow filled day!

Our class masterpiece

Author: Mrs Dudgeon | Filed under: Ancient Egyptians

In our first week at school we worked together to create a Egyptian team work masterpiece!

Egyptian Team Work!

How we did it…

Miss Jopling split the picture into sections and we each got a section to draw. We had to work carefully to look at the people drawing the surrounding sections to ours so they would match up. After we put all our work together to check if our drawings matched up. We were able to alter our work where needed, then we worked together to colour it in.

We hope you like all our hard work!

By all of Year 3a

1. Ross is writing a capital letter that has at least two right angles. What letters could it be?

2. Which letters have the most right angles?

Post below your answers to questions 1 and 2 .

Good luck!! Miss J
